The aim is to develop your understanding of mathematics and mathematical processes in a way that promotes confidence and fosters enjoyment. It will enable you to recognise how a real-life situation may be represented mathematically and acquire the skills needed to use technology such as calculators and computer software packages effectively to solve mathematical problems. Full-time students study this subject in combination with other AS/A Levels or GCSEs. You will study AS in the first year. A2, taken in the second year, makes up the full A Level qualification. Textbooks are provided for class use and personal study. For AS and A2 we use the Heinemann Modular Mathematics for Edexcel AS and A Level range of textbooks.
