Course Description

The specification aims to give you an introduction to the world of psychology through conducting practical research as well as learning about prime psychological studies. The course will also provide you with an awareness of the issues and debates in psychology. Students study 5 approaches (Social, Cognitive, Psychodynamic, Biological and Learning) at AS Level to gain a foundation in psychology. At A2, students are then able to develop their understanding through selection of a choice of applications including Criminology, Child, Health, Sport and Clinical Psychology. Full-time students study this subject in combination with other AS/A Levels or GCSEs. You will study AS over one year. A2, taken in the second year, makes up the A Level qualification.
