Course Description

Classics embraces the study of all aspects of the cultures of Greece and Rome (their languages, literature, thought, religion, art, archaeology and history) and their influence on later ages. We are acknowledged as one of the very best Classics Departments in the country, for stimulating teaching and overall quality of student experience as well as for cutting-edge research; the variety and flexibility of our teaching fully reflects the richness of the subject. This degree is for students who wish to study aspects of the classical world primarily through developing their skills in Ancient Greek and Latin so that they are able to read ancient texts in their original languages.
