Level 2 Diploma in Performing Engineering Operations

Course Description

This practical course will help you gain skills in a variety of areas including mechanical processes, bench fitting, Computer Aided Design (CAD), electronics and electrical installation work or machining using lathes. You will also gain skills in engineering measurements & calculations and health & safety. This course will provide you with the theory and knowledge that underpins the competences learnt. This course also includes the City and Guilds Technical Certificate in Engineering Level 2. How will I gain the qualification? The programme will have most of the time allocated to the practical tasks and activities associated with Engineering Manufacturing and its work related proceses. You will be required to keep a portfolio of evidence, a training folder and also a folder for notes that will help you understand the pratical tasks completed. Students are also required to complete the City and Guilds 2850 Level 2 in Engineering. In addition you will also need to complete an Induction OCN, Essential Skills in AON, Communications and I.T.

Career outcomes

Students can enter into employment and continue to study on a day release basis or enter into a sponsored Modern Apprenticeship with a participating employer. Those who have also successfully completed the PEO Level 2 could also continue onto a Level 3 programme e.g. BTEC Level 3 Subsidiary & Extended Diploma or onto the Electro-Technical Installation course.
