This course is ideal if you are interested in developing business knowledge and management skills, if you want a choice of subjects and if you want opportunities for work experience and enterprise. In the first year the course focuses on the foundations of business. Students will learn about the business environment, marketing, finance and human resources. There will be opportunities to get involved with Enterprise Week activities and charity fundraising events as part of the first year assessment. In the second year you will build on your business knowledge and start to develop a more detailed understanding of how different parts of the business are managed. You will develop further skills in people management and business problem solving. You have a choice of different modules in year two, enabling you to pursue areas that are of interest to you. There will be opportunities for you to explore your own business ideas and launch your own enterprise. You can also undertake work experience, using work-based learning to enhance your understanding and gain credits towards your degree. In your final year you will develop your business knowledge and management skills at a strategic level, looking at corporate strategy and undertaking a major dissertation or project. You will also have a choice of modules allowing you to pursue your areas of interest at a higher level.
