(Access to Higher Education Diploma) Professions in Law and Criminology

Course Description

Access to HE Diplomas are designed to prepare mature learners for higher education (HE). They have been specifically designed for people who may have little in the way of formal educational qualifications, but who bring to the course a variety of life and work experience, a desire to learn and a willingness to study. In addition to studying the core modules, students will have the opportunity to study maths and information technology. A supportive learning environment is provided by using a variety of methods, including classroom-based teaching, group work, individual tutorials, outside visits, videos and printed handouts. The course is made up of four modules: - Core - Legal systems - Criminology - Legal principles All units are assessed and graded. Assessment is continuous and ranges from traditional essays and examinations, to projects and presentations.
