This course aims to enable you to unlock your creative potential and develop a broad range of exciting new skills on this 1-year Creative Media course at The Manchester College. You will take part in a variety of creative projects which will introduce you to ideas, processes and materials that bring your ideas to life. Through experimenting with both traditional and digital techniques, will give you the opportunity to explore your chosen career path and develop a dynamic and original portfolio. You will be involved in a mixture of workshops, lectures and tutorial activities that develop skills in drawing & illustration, creative thinking, media project management and graphic design. You can get your hands dirty making models, explore the latest 2D software applications and build skills in post and audio production. As you discover your creative potential and individuality, the programme of study will enhance your practical study skills and broaden your knowledge of the creative media industries. If you are intent on a career in art design or media, this is your first stepping-stone. You will take part in a wide range of activities that develop your creative thinking, ideas generation and problem solving skills. You will work with materials and technologies to develop creative responses. You will have the opportunity to develop drawing skills and experiment with a variety of mark making styles. You will explore an area of individual specialism and prepare your portfolio in the third term you will have the opportunity to write and develop work for a final major project.

Successful completion of the diploma will prepare you for the demands of Higher Education and, upon successful completion, allow direct entry onto your preferred degree course at The Manchester College or other Higher Education institution.
