Course Description

International managers face unprecedented challenges, but also opportunities in today’s dynamic and multicultural business environment. Reasons for these challenges include the dramatic changes in business processes, the emergence of markets, management practices, customers’ perceptions and current trends in the international business environment including mergers/acquisitions, outsourcing and penetration of foreign markets. As a result of these changes, business, marketing and operations strategies have to be reviewed and international managers have to upgrade their managerial skills. An understanding of the contemporary international business environment is vital and requires both a multidisciplinary approach and an extensive knowledge of various factors such as globalisation, advances in information and communication technologies, financial institutions, the World Bank, the IMF and international trade blocs that underpin and impact businesses. This course is designed by St Patrick's.
