Course Description

Are you interested in understanding the world around you and how its functions play a role in everyday life? As a Physics student, you will be exposed to cutting-edge knowledge in a wide variety of subfields including condensed matter physics, lasers and optical physics, nanotechnology, materials science, medical imaging, and mathematical physics. Here at Lakehead, we offer a full range of Bachelor of Science programs in Physics including majors in Physics, Mathematical Physics, and Physics with a major concentration in Applied Bio-Molecular Science. As a student, you will benefit from small class sizes ensuring individual attention, mentoring, and easy access to one-on-one discussions with faculty members. You will also have ample opportunity to enhance and complement your classroom experience through a research-oriented undergraduate thesis or summer research positions. We also provide a Co-op option that will allow you the opportunity to work in industries that specialize in physics-based technologies such as the semiconductor and communications industries, medical physics, or meteorology. You can also combine your Physics program with a Concurrent program in Education.
