Electrical and Electronic engineers provide technical leadership and design skills to the electronics, telecommunications and power generation industries. They use mathematical and scientific principles to design, build, fault find, analyse and control all things electrical from electric motors and power generators to tiny Integrated Circuit (IC) chips. What you will learn After a first year common to all engineering students, you will branch out to study subjects including: * Introduction to Electromagnetism Optics and Thermodynamics * Electronics * Power Engineering * Engineering Project Management * Electrical and Electronic Engineering Design. You will examine the practical applications of electrical principles through experiments, group assignments and project work.

An electrical engineering career is portable enough to take you anywhere in the world. Electrical and Electronic engineers are employed by industries that generate, transmit, or consume large amounts of electrical power (power utilities, mines, mills, etc.). They also work in industries that service, manufacture and/or develop telecommunications systems, networks and consumables, medical and aviation instrumentation, computer products and digital signal processing.
