You will combine core subjects from Arts and Indigenous Australian Studies with electives from, for example, Sociology, Anthropology, History or Human Services. Electives are also available across Creative Media, Business and Science. Many subjects are also available externally, giving added flexibility. For additional expertise you can combine this major with a second major. Popular combinations with Indigenous Australian Studies include History, Anthropology and Human Services.

This is an employment-orientated degree that equips Indigenous and non-Indigenous peoples to work with Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people. Career pathways include private sector, Indigenous community organisations and government departments. Indigenous Australian Studies graduates are sought for careers in both the public and private sectors in management, politics, policy and planning, research, advocacy, administration, community engagement, cultural heritage management, education and training, and community welfare. Key industries include tourism, the arts, media, health, law, the environment, human services and resource management.
