As a Sport and Exercise scientist you will have a strong understanding of the scientific principles underlying the benefits of physical activity with a skilled focus on the role of sport and exercise in the enhancement of health and human performance in occupational, educational, sport, exercise and wellness settings. This joint degree, completed over 4 years includes prescribed clinical placements to help develop work-ready skills. This may include individual exercise prescription, sport association/club activities, a placement in sports academies/institutes, community events and research activities. Successful applicants require Hepatitis B immunisation, current Queensland First Aid and CPR certificates plus a Suitability to Work with Children (Blue Card) and an Australian Federal Police check before undertaking placement. It is recommended that these requirements be completed by the end of your first semester/teaching period. Business majors include Sports and Events Management, Marketing, and Human Resource Management. Some of these majors are available to study online, giving you greater flexibility.

Our graduates also pursue careers such as: a business manager for a retail sporting business or gym, a sport and events manager for major sporting facilities and events, fitness and wellbeing program management and marketing.
