Career outcomes

Secondary teachers are in high demand throughout Australia and overseas. Around 1,300 additional teachers were required in Queensland state secondary schools in 2015, as Year 7 joined junior secondary. Depending on your specialisation, you can also seek employment in non-teaching pathways such as in educational management, and government and private sector employment, especially where an understanding of training and development is required. This joint degree is nationally accredited through the Australian Institute for Teaching and School Leadership (AITSL) in association with the Queensland College of Teachers (QCT). Graduates of this course are eligible for teacher registration in Australia.
