The Media Design major is delivered at our Cairns and Townsville campuses, and also entirely online (external mode). Both campuses have modern facilities, with access to a first-class equipment lending library, and state-of-the-art software and hardware in our well-equipped laboratories, open 24-7. You will participate in real-world projects, and acquire professional experience, starting in your first year of study. We offer guest lectures from industry experts, who share their cutting-edge knowledge. Core (common) subjects are studied in addition to the major chosen. The core subjects focus on creative industries, culture and collaboration, and prepare you for professional practice. Other majors offered: Creativity and Innovation, Media Arts, Photomedia, and Music, Sound and the Moving Image.

You will gain the conceptual design and technical skills to pursue positions with organisations involved in: multimedia design, web design, e-commerce applications, design for mobile devices, interface design creation, interactive content creation, information design, graphic design work, independent art studio work, magazine content and production, exhibition displays, advertising, digital media, electronic publishing, sales and marketing activities, staff training and development, educational technology, corporate reporting and image making, and online information management and communication.
