The Bachelor of Arts majoring in the Asian Century offers a suite of subjects that contextualise the Asian Century within the human story, prioritise histories and cultures, and focus on common goals that confront shared social, economic, environmental, urban, demographic and educational issues. The Asian Century examines the rise in Asian development in a socio-economic, political and cultural context. It considers the influence of economic growth on populations, productivity, sustainability, education, and regional and global politics, for example. This is a new area of study that is relevant to JCU as Australia’s University for the Tropics.
