Course Description

This course is an ideal progression if you have completed an undergraduate degree in a relevant area of accountancy, business, economics or finance. It is particularly suited if you wish to pursue a career in modern, international financial markets and it will develop your understanding and knowledge of banking and finance systems. The course has a strong focus on enhancing your management opportunities in areas such as investment banking, retail banking and other financial institutions. You will develop critical insights through our use of guest speakers from the commercial world such as RBS and Yorkshire Bank who will inform you of current practices and developments, such as aspects of risk management, as well as offering you career development and networking opportunities. Our strong connections with the financial world are demonstrated through our Partners in Accountancy scheme which links you with accountancy firms of national and international repute. You will be taught by staff with extensive experience gained as practitioners with knowledge gained in businesses , the commercial sector (including banking) and the professional bodies. Staff are members of and hold positions within professional bodies such as the West Yorkshire Society of Chartered Accountants (the Head of Department for Accountancy currently holds the office of President in the organisation).
