This degree combines a study of the Chinese language (Mandarin and Classical Chinese) supported by modules exploring Chinese culture in its various manifestations across the entire span of China's pre-modern and modern history, with the study of a wide range of religions in their cultural, sociological and historical contexts. The course does not require prior experience in China or of the Chinese language.
