Course Description

The University has recently built a new Aircraft Maintenance Training Centre for our aeronautical awards, which includes a BAE Jetstream aircraft, laboratory equipment, a gas turbine engine, wind tunnel upgrade and a flight simulator, as well as state-of-the-art engineering analysis software. A key element in the employment of postgraduate engineers is progression to management, so you will develop relevant managerial skills during this course, as well as an awareness of the wider issues that impinge on the aeronautical industry, such as the environment and safety. We have comprehensive links with industry through our Industrial Panel, which contains representatives from major companies, including BAMC, Storm, GE, Nordam Europe, TES and BA Avionics. Throughout this Masters course you will study a series of compulsory modules covering project planning and management, research methods and a dissertation which brings the taught elements of the course into context with research of industrial based project work.
