The Access and Foundation programme consists of three pathways which are designed to prepare you for a range of degrees: Humanities, Science and Social Sciences. Humanities Pathway Compulsory Units: * English * History Optional Subjects: (These are recommended optional subjects but students may pursue any subject, provided that approval is given by the course leader) Advanced IT, Biology, Business Studies,Chemistry, Childhood Studies, Cultural Studies, Further Maths, Mechanics, Media Studies, Physics, Political Economy, Principles of Youth and Community Work, Psychology, Religion and Culture, Social and Welfare Policy, Sociology, Statistics, Women, History and Society. A Foundation Certificate (Humanities) course is also available.

On completion, Access to HE Diploma students gain a nationally recognised qualification, broadly equivalent to two A’ levels, which is accepted for entry into degree courses at the University of South Wales and also throughout the UK. Over 2,500 women and men have gained a second chance in education from our courses. Many have gone on to gain honours degrees and secured posts in education, the legal profession, local government, the voluntary sector, the media, political life, business and finance, social work and in medicine.
