The programme of study for this Performing Arts course will include (Student will have to choose particular pathways from the available options.): Performance analysis. Researching for and documenting performance. The social and cultural significance of performance. Performance making and performance skills (physical theatre and dance, acting and acting for film, text based and devised theatre). Popular Theatre (cabaret, music theatre, stand up comedy, melodrama, music hall) Social and applied performance. Performance and Media – filmmaking, radio and sound design, presenting. Scriptwriting, narrative and storytelling. Professional or workplace study. In addition to the modules listed above, you will also study ‘Enhancing Academic Success’ which aims to develop and support academic skills and facilitate an effective transition to Higher Education. Areas covered include academic writing, observational skills, critical thinking and analysis.
