Film Studies - BA

Course Description

This is an American degree, four years in length (see the 'structure' tab for more information). The Film Studies major offers a comprehensive study of film and knowledge of basic film production, as well as theories about film and its cultural meanings, values and impact. You will develop an understanding of film history and aesthetics, as well as critical approaches to the study of film. You will move from a general survey to specific, in-depth studies of genres, film-makers and theories. Upper-level courses focus on in-depth analysis of film genres, filmmakers, or international cinema.
