The CKP will be cross mapped by your tutors to ensure you complete both to a high standard. You will learn to identify and formulate plans to solve public-service related problems. You will also investigate the effective use of communication and information technology for public services applications. Within the CKP you will cover policing practice such as searches, conflict resolution, profiling criminal behaviour, interviewing techniques, witness support and how to conduct an investigation. You will develop essential skills such as time management, teamwork as well as self-motivating techniques and explore the sensitivity and openness required to work with diverse groups.

What can I do after my HND? Your HND is a nationally recognised qualification which will provide you with a thorough grounding in the key concepts and practical skill required in the sector. On completion of your qualification you can progress to work in a range of public services such as the Police, Fire Service, Navy and prison services. You can also continue with your studies and move on to the second or third year of a related degree programme such as Criminology. Your CKP qualification enhances your employability to a range of public services and is a mandatory requirement for entry to the London Metropolitan Police Force.
