Course Description

The students of the Degree Programme in Chemistry acquire a solid background in basic sciences (mathematics and physics) and in all the main fields of chemistry (analytical, inorganic, organic and physical chemistry). Technical skills and a working understanding of chemical phenomena are provided by extensive laboratory practices along the three years. At the end of the course, a three month experience within a research group or an external lab is required, with a final exposition and discussion of the performed activity.

Career outcomes

Graduates of the Programme will be able to demonstrate a basic knowledge of mathematical analysis, classical physics and quantum mechanics; a deep understanding of the principles of chemistry and of molecular theory; a working knowledge of structure and reactivity aspects in organic and inorganic chemistry, of chemical and instrumental techniques in analytical chemistry, and of thermodynamics and spectroscopy as applied to chemistry. They will be ready to access the two-year programme of master studies in Chemistry or Industrial chemistry.
