Course Details

Architectural Engineering MEng, BEng

Course Description

Leeds was the first university in the UK to offer architectural engineering degrees and our success has grown over 50 years. Our programme is truly interdisciplinary, designed to produce engineers who understand and can participate in the design of buildings from an architectural perspective while having a firm grounding in civil and structural engineering. Spanning the disciplines of civil engineering and architecture, the programme offers a broad curriculum. After gaining a strong understanding across civil engineering in year one, you will maintain this breadth throughout your studies, with additional specialisation in aspects specific to the requirements of architectural engineers such as architectural history, architectural theory and building services. As with all the School’s degrees, Architectural Engineering is accredited by the Joint Board of Moderators, which will help you gain chartered engineer status after graduation.
