Automotive Engineering MEng, BEng

Course Description

Automotive engineering is concerned with the life-cycle support (including design, manufacture, performance and durability testing) of vehicles: from road and off-road vehicles to race cars, vans and trucks. A key challenge for automotive engineers today is to design sustainable vehicles that meet ever-increasing safety and performance standards in a cost-effective way. In order to do this, you will need to be able to embrace a wide range of fundamental and more specialist engineering skills, and be aware of the commercial implications that impinge on the design and production processes. You will also have the opportunity to work on the Formula Student Car which is a big attraction for this course as well as providing you with an excellent chance to put theory into practice.
