BA (Hons) Business Economics

Course Description

Our Business Economics course enables you to become proficient in analysing problems like a seasoned economist while using in-depth theories to grasp how different business strategies can be employed and how they are applied around the world. You will gain an understanding of economic theory and build up a set of skills in economic analysis, while recognising the importance of quantitative methods and helping build mathematical and statistical skills. Studying Business Economics at Hull enables you to develop ways of thinking and a skill set that will make you valuable to a wide range of employers. You'll study under research-active experts in our state-of-the-art business school, which has international accreditation from AACSB (held by fewer than 5% of business programmes worldwide). Combine this with the opportunity to boost your employability through the option of an extra year of professional experience, often with a top global business, or by studying at one of our partner institutions in Europe, Asia, North America or Australia. Our staff are themselves helping to advance their subjects, bringing a particular edge to learning and teaching. You gain an understanding of economic theory and build up a set of skills in economic analysis. You also acquire a valuable range of numerical and data-handling abilities alongside your specialist subject knowledge, and will be skilled at communicating the results of your work. Our alumni include Jeremy Darroch (Chief Executive of Sky plc), Muhtar Kent (Chairman and Chief Executive of Coca Coca) and Robert Elstone (CEO of Everton Football Club)
