Course Description

Accounting at Hull is taught by staff with real-world experience, as well as by academics who are at the forefront of research. It is a testament to the quality of their teaching that so many of our graduates go on to qualify as accountants with one of the ‘big four’ accounting firms or organisations such as the Civil Service, the IMF and the World Bank. You'll develop an in-depth understanding of global accounting and finance though placements, projects, case studies, company visits, guest lectures and online mentoring. Many students choose to spend a year working on a professional placement or studying abroad as part of their degree. Summer schools are also available with a range of overseas partners. These are credit-bearing for degree purposes – a distinctive feature at Hull. Our programmes are accredited by the main accountancy bodies: ACCA, CIMA, CIPFA, ICAEW and HKICPA. This offers significant exemptions from essential professional exams, giving you a faster route to qualifying as an accountant or financial manager.
