Course Description

Study at one of the UK’s leading business schools and prepare yourself for the fast-paced, competitive job market while developing a firm grounding in how organisations work internally. A focus on ethical practices is something on which the University is proud to lead and is part of our commitment to preparing you for the future of business. Your degree will be underpinned by international accreditations such as AACSB – held by fewer than 5% of the world’s business programmes. Combine this with the opportunity to boost your international employability through a professional experience year or a shorter consultancy project, or by studying at one of our partner institutions overseas. You will acquire a broad business knowledge and skill set; analysing the ever changing dynamic business environment from practical and vocational perspectives. In addition, you’ll develop knowledge and understanding of the main functional areas of business, the management process, as well as why and how organisations initiate or respond to changes in their internal and external environments. Features: Our business degree courses have a common first year (except BSc Economics (Econ)). This gives you the flexibility to change to any of our business degree courses at the end of your first year, if you decide that your chosen specialism is not for you. Our dedicated World of Work Office will connect you with businesses and keep you up to date with relevant work placements, company projects and job opportunities and skills to help give you the edge in the employment market. Our annual World of Work Week offers a wide range of events and guest speakers from companies like Accenture, IBM and Procter & Gamble, providing business-focused career advice. Our professional experience programme provides the opportunity to spend a year in the workplace, with companies like IBM, Boots, BP, Microsoft UK, PricewaterhouseCoopers, and the Walt Disney Company. All business students have the opportunity to spend an additional international year studying business at one of our partner institutions in Europe, Asia, North America or Australia. A summer school at one of our international partner institutions is a great way to enhance your degree with international experience. Our students can attend a credit-bearing three week summer school to further enhance graduate employability. Our free Alumni Connect scheme is open to all graduates and provides a wide range of career resources, online events and country-specific recruitment guides, all designed to enhance your career long after graduation.
