This course is an intensive journalism course for those interested in writing for newspapers, magazines, online news portals and how to anchor for radio or television. It is a unique project-based diploma programme that will equip you with a sound knowledge of converting story ideas into news reports or news features for newspaper and magazines. Assignments may include twitter, blogs, news reports, news features, researched articles, crime reporting, editorial, obituary, reviews and gossip columns. Students in this course will also be oriented to feature writing techniques such as slice-of-life, interviews, and profiles. Media ethics, cutting biases, societal influences, internationality, media laws & other legal issues, polity, economy and international media are few topics that will be discussed and several news assignments based on these subjects will be covered.
