This degree has been designed to provide graduates with the knowledge and skills to work with performers from both participation and performance levels with a focus on the application of both sports science and coaching competencies. It focuses on developing a theoretical understanding of coaching and sport science, while gaining practical experience and skills in both aspects.

Graduates are highly valued by employers and enter a wide range of career areas including sports coaching, strength and conditioning, sport scientist support, national sport development, and school sport. Many graduates continue their personal development through a PGCE, a higher degree or Supervised Experience leading to British Association Sport and Exercise Sciences (BASES) Accreditation. During the course, you will be provided with many opportunities to develop your employability skills. The University Careers and Employability Service provides taught sessions and individual support specifically tailored to students interested in working within sport and exercise science and coaching. Students will also benefit from internship and placement opportunities, team-building days and reflective assessment exercises.
