The focus of the Interactive Multimedia Degree is to foster creativity, thus enabling the student to design and develop multimedia content while working in a digital environment. The course offers exceptional opportunities for students to explore their potential across a broad range of activities such as conceptual and interaction design, multimedia authoring, visual design and communication, critique skills, film and digital audio production and design for the web and mobile devices. As they progress through the course students are encouraged to develop particular specialisations based on their individual interests and skills. These specialist areas include mobile development, photography, design for print, interaction design, 3D animation, digital video and audio production, interactive programming. This specialisation is then realised through the final year production.

On completion of this course, students will be provided with a comprehensive range of skills enabling them to design, develop and produce content for mobile, print, social networking and other web industries. The main areas of employment as a graduate of the BA (Hons) in Interactive Multimedia are design for the web and mobile devices, 2D and 3D modelling and animation, interface design/development, media designer, visual communications, web services, localisation services and publishing.
