Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in Hotel Management

Course Description

This course will equip you with the knowledge, skills and competence to work in a management position of a hotel. You will harness a strategic outlook of the industry with a strong focus on managing people. The course is delivered through a combination of lectures, practicals, workshops, seminars and presentations from industry representatives in the Institute of Technology, Tralee. A unique part of this programme is the significant work based learning element delivered in industry. A number of industry visits and field trips are also organised as part of the programme. Students are assessed through a combination of project work, individual assignments, presentations and end of year examinations combined with work based learning assessments. Graduates will be able to solve critical problems and demonstrate authority and innovation in the development of new ideas at the forefront of the international hospitality industry. The offering of the BA (Hons) in Hotel Management further develops the learners’ key skills, their strategic ability and their knowledge of the hotel management discipline.

The programme will enable students to source secure employment positions nationally or internationally. Graduates may enter the industry at operational management level and progress onto general and senior management.
