Course Catalog » Apply Now » The Biblical Languages major and minor at HBU are designed for students who desire to read and interpret the Christian Scriptures within their social, historical and linguistic contexts. The major or minor in Biblical Languages is appropriate for individuals preparing for vocational ministry and any serious student of the biblical traditions. The major includes Advanced Reading and Syntax in both Hebrew and Greek, while the minor program includes basic grammar for both Hebrew and Greek and Reading and Syntax II in Hebrew or Greek. Many of our students have gone on to engage in master's and doctoral graduate work at top biblical language programs. As well, many go on to become pastors, missionaries, Bible translators, language instructors, worship leaders, and youth ministers in churches and schools throughout the world.
