An understanding of many contemporary issues, such as biotechnology and global warming, requires a grasp of fundamental biological ideas. This programme will develop your practical skills and broaden your understanding of concepts such as genetics, molecules and cells, reproduction and biodiversity. This AS/A Level can be taken on its own, combined with other AS/A Levels or a vocational qualification.

A study of biology could lead to careers in, medicine, veterinary medicine, dentistry, zoology, botany, marine biology and environmental sciences. The A Level can be used to progress to university, along with other A Level subjects.
