The course covers the importance and value of social work, its development in social policy contexts and the legislative and theoretical frameworks within which it operates. It gives students opportunities to explore working with different service user groups and within diverse practice settings. Students develop a range of key skills, including advanced communication, assessment, methods of intervention, management and evaluative research.
