The course has been designed to offer hands-on experience of the criminal justice system in practice. New developments include visits to a prison in the North West of England, the opportunity to attend crown court and guest lecturers with first-hand experience of the system in operation.

There is an excellent range of career opportunities in the field of criminal and community justice. Graduates have progressed to careers in the police and probation services, victim support, the prison service, the youth offending service and drug and alcohol agencies, as well as jobs within the voluntary sector. Our degree may also enable you to progress on to a law conversion course should you wish to do so or follow a completely different career path.
