Career outcomes

The Bachelor of Science in Agriculture develops farming, business and management skills to enable graduates to follow careers as successful commercial farmers or in the agri-business sector. It will provide graduates with the skills they will need to be able to participate actively in policy decisions – whether they are local, regional or international – which will influence their profession and its role in a modern economy. The course is primarily designed for people who aim to be farmers, including those who: • wish to take up full-time, commercial farming immediately; • will become part-time farmers with a part/full time off-farm job; • will work full-time off-farm for a period of years before taking up farming; • wish to undertake further study and acquire higher qualifications before going into the workforce.
