The Career Academy provides a relatively broad and rounded education rather than training for any specific career or business sector. Equipping learners with valuable life skills. Alongside the BTEC Extended Diploma Career Academy learners have visiting speakers, mentoring by employee volunteers, six weeks paid internship and employer-led seminars. Trips are planned to New York, London, Manchester, Leeds and a residential in Wales. There is also the opportunity to visit a European organisation to study their business systems.

This qualification is mapped to the Degree in Business Information Systems at the University Centre at Blackburn College which is certified by Lancaster University, providing an easy progression route for the subjects chosen and gives a strong foundation for degree level study.
