This is a practical course suitable for those students that, for whatever reason have left school without any qualifications and can demonstrate an interest in IT. It gives learners the knowledge, understanding and skills that they need to prepare for employment or college progression, and provides career development opportunities.

Learners will work towards two separate qualifications which consist of Entry and Level 1 units ready for progression to a Level 1 diploma the following academic year. There are various units to study as part of the IT and Software Skills course, the majority of which use Microsoft Office software and some specialist software. These include: * Databases * Spreadsheets * Improving Productivity * Word Processing * Using a Computer Keyboard * Drawing and Planning * Design Software * Multimedia * Video Software Learners will also be required to achieve a Functional Skills Qualification in English and Maths.
