Course Description

As a Landscape Architecture student, you will apply creativity, innovation and an understanding of scientific principles to the design of outdoor spaces that are attractive, functional and sustainable. You will affect the way that our cities, suburbs, rural and wilderness areas are planned, designed and managed. Landscape Architecture at Guelph is the only English-language program of its kind in Canada and is among the best of over 70 programs in North America.

Landscape Architecture is the art and science of designing and conserving land and water for human use and enjoyment. This four-year professional undergraduate program, combines education and practice, planning and creative design. Its unique responsibility is to integrate societal needs with the natural environment in a manner that is non-polluting and results in minimal alteration to natural ecosystems. As a Landscape Architect, you will frequently work closely with architects, urban planners and engineers, and where the conservation and creation of natural settings is concerned you will also work with scientists in this field.
