BA (Hons) Digital Music

Course Description

Learn to craft innovative, individual and exciting digital music on this specialised course, combining music theory, practice and hands-on professional skills. Taught by practising DJs and musicians, you’ll study digital music production, sound design, music for film and digital media, as well as digital DJing and the live performance of digital music. You’ll get hands-on experience at a variety of digital music production skills, and learn to use industry-standard production software to construct, edit and sequence projects from pre-recorded samples, MIDI and audio files. For your final major project, you’ll have the chance to produce a concept album, DJ circuit-bent instruments, virtual software instruments, experimental sound design or soundtracks for film or video.

As a graduate you’ll have acquired a wide-ranging skillset suited for a variety of roles in the dance music industry, including third-party production, media, DJing and live performance, as well as roles creating and producing music for film, TV and games.
