Course Description

With 25 years’ experience in outdoor leisure, Southampton Solent University are experts at producing knowledgeable and industry ready adventure management graduates. Combining the practical elements of adventure sports management with essential business management skills, this programme is well suited to those who are looking to enter the sports tourism, leisure or outdoor entertainment industry. Southampton Solent University is ideally positioned to offer a range of watersports training. Students enjoy easy access to the New Forest and its many outdoor attractions. Management and business skills are taught throughout the degree, giving you the essential transferable skills needed for management roles. Students are offered the opportunity to earn national governing body (NGB) awards. Excellent sports facilities enable you to practice the activities you love throughout your time at Southampton Solent. Tuition fees include the cost of outdoor residential experiences during year one, and a wide range of day trips, short breaks and industry visits in year two and year three. Students are given the option to study abroad, accept work placements, or both. Strong industry links and an established graduate network have helped past students to secure work placements permanent jobs. The course is taught by a highly experienced team, many of whom are still active in the outdoor industry. Solent’s RYA Training Centre is rated ‘Outstanding’ by Ofsted. Ample support is given to students interested in setting up their own business.
