The portfolio is an important tool, used to promote one’s personality, skills, and authorship. In the world of fashion and design it is a crucial element required when you are pursuing further studies or looking for job opportunities and participating in competitions. This programme has been created in order to aid you in the development and creation of your portfolio. The course provides a platform of tutors who will give you feedback and a review, together with advice on the selection and presentation of your work. Furthermore it’s aim is also to assist you in completing your work, not limiting it to what has already been realized but implementing it with new ideas, the fruit of a collaboration between student and tutor resulting in a piece of truly rewarding work. The course will commence with the introduction and evaluation of your projects, pictures, sketchbooks, artworks, colour studies, collages and moods and any other work that represents your personality and experiences. You will then start to develop and project initial ideas for styles, shapes and covers of the portfolio, taking inspiration from examples presented by the tutors. As the course continues, it will provide you with an insight into typography, digitalizing and scanning images and elaborating them on programmes such as Adobe Photoshop and consequently putting them together and creating portfolio layouts, books, CVs, etc. in Adobe InDesign. The course will teach you how to do personal online promotion by creating your personal website with Adobe Muse and managing different social networks such as Facebook, LinkedIn and Instagram. In the last stage of the course, you will focus on the final composite, putting into practice the various advice you have received while working on the final edit. The course will guide you through all the steps starting from the initial creative input and editing, moving onto image and text composition and creation of the layout, arriving at the prepress stage and ending with the actual printing and packaging. During the course, you will also be trained on personal introduction and interview skills, in order to better prepare you for any kind of future presentation.
