A full-immersion programme on the Polimoda method of didactics that will put into practise a one student-to-one tutor approach in order to develop and enhance your Fashion Design skills. Courses will be held at Villa Favard, with it’s amazing library and in our fully equipped laboratories. You will find inspiration exploring the streets, museums, shops and the day/nightlife of Florence. This course makes you explore the fundamental disciplines of Fashion Design and compels you to practise composing, analysing and editing resources and ultimately to designing and creating a silhouette. Specific basic skills will be taught - Pattern Cutting, Sewing and Draping. Regardless of your level, you will be guided by different fashion professionals who will give you insight and feedback on your future educational or professional opportunities. You will be taught about all the creative steps a Fashion Designer has to undertake. Starting from research and concept, proceeding with conceiving a capsule collection and ending with the design of a silhouette, the development of basic patterns and a prototype garment in muslin. The whole process with all the work you will produce will be documented in a Design Book that can be used for updating your portfolio.
