Course Description

The Allied Health program offers a broad understanding of health and illness from a biological, psychological and sociological perspective, a solid liberal arts education, and a concentration in either health care administration or general science, which would provide the student with courses useful for an entry-level position in the allied health field or for furthering his or her education beyond the bachelor's degree. Coursework is designed to develop critical thinking skills and a humanistic approach to health care delivery. An internship experience in the senior year consists of a placement in a setting relevant to the student's chosen area of concentration and career goals.

The Allied Health program can prepare students for employment in health care administration or human service work in a variety of health care settings. The program also supplies graduates with the potential to enter graduate programs in health care administration, business administration, occupational therapy, public administration, public health, physician assistant, nutrition and various health sciences programs.
