Course Description

The Computer Information Systems (CIS) program is about the use of computers in aiding business professionals to perform their functions in modern organizations. This area of specialization enables a student to determine the informational needs of an organization and identify the patterns of information flow that satisfy those needs. The major includes studies in computer hardware and software, programming, database management systems, management information systems, computer decision systems, communication systems, and the analysis and design of information systems. The CIS program teaches students important technical and applied skills and prepares them for a variety of careers in information systems and information technology. Students receive a broad business background, with specialized training computer information systems.
