ABC Certificate in Introduction to the Hospitality Industry

Course Description

This qualification is a foundation learning programme and provides students with the skills and knowledge needed to work within the hospitality industry. Students will learn about safety at work and hygienic working practices, understand how to make an effective contribution when working in a team and develop professional skills in the preparation, cooking and serving of food to customers.

Career outcomes

Students are assessed by completing coursework and practical activities. Students will also complete functional skills in maths, English and IT. On successful completion of the ABC Level 1 Certificate in Introduction to the Hospitality Industry, students can progress to an apprenticeship. In exceptional circumstances, students can progress to C&G VRQ Level1 Diploma in Introduction to Professional Cookery. Students could also progress into the following employment areas: * Trainee Chef * Trainee Baker * Waiter * Bar Person * Breakfast Chef * Grill Chef
