This course will put theory into creative and professional practice through practical production in both disciplines. Film and Television are an integral part of our everyday lives. These two related industries and art forms are the backbone of the contemporary media landscape on a local, national and global level. Our Film and Television Studies degree offers the opportunity to study two exciting media, and to put theoretical, historical and contemporary knowledge into practical production in both disciplines. You will learn how to critically analyse a variety of national and international film and television texts and industry practices within a variety of contexts. You will apply that critical knowledge and understanding to your own creative and professional practice. Supported by industry trained professionals, you will develop your creative and technical skills using industry standard equipment in our television studios, as well as other production environments. Your skills will be further developed during professional placements in your first and second year.

Our graduates go on to work in areas such as media production, film production, television and the creative industries and teaching. There is also opportunity to progress into postgraduate study.
