Biochemistry is the heart of the life sciences, exploring life processes from a molecular point of view by studying the structure, properties and biological activity of various classes of biomolecules. • Four-year program leads to an Honours Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry (biotechnology option available in French program) • Formal lectures and lab sessions provide a hands-on approach to instrumentation • Many students become involved in research projects with their professors or with scientists at the Northeastern Ontario Regional Cancer Centre or the Northern Ontario School of Medicine • Program helps develop problem-solving and analytical skills, critical reasoning and communication skills • Provides a good balance of fundamental biochemical principles and practical techniques required in the life sciences
