Course Description

This innovative, collaborative program provides students with the opportunity to obtain a four-year degree in business in Barrie, as well as in Kingston. Laurentian’s Bachelor of Business Administration degree means students can meet employer demands for candidates who are well diversified and flexible. Courses in this degree may be applied toward Certified Management Accountant (CMA) and Certified General Accountant (CGA) designations. • Four-year program • Courses include in-depth knowledge of all aspects of business including accounting, finance, marketing, human resource management and strategic planning • Average class size of 34 students allows for better access to professors and individualized attention. First-year course overview ADMN 1016 – Foundations of Management ADMN 1017 – Management Decision Making ADMN 1126 – Understanding and Using Financial Information COSC 1702 – Computer Applications II ECON 1006 – Introduction to Microeconomics ECON 1007 – Introduction to Macroeconomics ENGL 1561 – Business Writing + electives (9 cr) in business, humanities, social science, or science Students can have a maximum of 48 credits in first year courses. This includes the 7 required courses and any other first year electives. Over the duration of the program, 4 of 19 electives must be non-business, 4 of 19 must be business. The remaining 11 are up to the student to choose. There is no specified number of business or non-business elective credits for the first year. Students may choose their electives as they wish.
